For my submission, "A Poster creates... (Version 03)"; I wished to answer the question of what a poster does. How does the viewer relate to it? How is a poster individually perceived?

A picture may tell a thousand words yet a poster conveys a specific meaning. The meaning may change in its interpretation, but the purpose remains the same.
The elements in the poster seek to answer those questions; in a statement complimented by legends of design and communication. The eye is a homage to the thought-provoking works of René Magritte, and pays respect to the early days of poster printing throughout Europe in the 18th and 19th Century. The colours emulate the iconic works of Milton Glaser who helped redefine poster art and design in America and across the globe. The typeface used is Avenir, by the legendary Typographer Adrian Frutiger whose letters helped express communication and character in a perfect balance of style, function and expression.

Their work has had such an influence on the history and development of posters; that the viewer may not need reference or explanation. Their influence may be subconciously ingrained. Perhaps the viewer may recognise the influence and seek out these giants, so that a poster may indeed create a thousand interpretations.
